Alliance Hospice is dedicated to supporting people dealing with advanced illness, death, and bereavement. In the client’s home and community, our volunteers and staff provide practical, emotional, and spiritual support in collaboration with family caregivers, health care providers, and community support agencies. Our services are offered at no cost to the client.

2011 Hike for Hospice Raised $115,000
Hike for Hospice 2011 was a tremendous success, raising $38,000 for Alliance! We are grateful to the hikers, volunteers, Board and staff who braved the threatening weather and came out on May 1st to support hospice palliative care. With our Hike partners, we raised $115,000; Alliance volunteer Judy North raising $11,260 was the top individual fundraiser of this year! Thank you to all those who were unable to attend but cared enough to donate.
We salute all the volunteers behind the scenes for their invaluable help pulling the day together. Hike for Hospice is a team effort that includes our corporate sponsors who help with prizes and donations of food and services.
Alliance Hospice is very grateful for the tremendous support and enthusiasm of Bayshore Home Health-GTA Branch. For three years they have worked tirelessly to raise significant sums to support our palliative care programs and come out in force on Hike day This year their Bayshore Believers team raised over $3700 for Alliance Hospice.
Next year's Hike is on Sunday, May 6, 2012 – hope to see you there!

Better Alliance: Integration with Better Living Health and Community Services Helps Us Expand Our Services
Effective April 1, 2011, Alliance Hospice has integrated with Better Living Health and Community Services to ensure that adults with advanced illness – and their loved ones –
have access to a wide range of programs and services that support quality end-of-life care. This
integration has been approved by the Central LHIN following community consultations and a thorough
Better Living and Alliance Hospice have been successfully working together for over 10 years. This integration will build capacity and further improve service delivery that mutually benefits both organizations and the communities we serve. While the total range of services to clients, family members and caregivers will expand and improve, all current services within each organization will continue and there will be no staffing changes. Alliance Hospice will continue to operate from its offices on Gervais Drive.
